Assessment systems

All learners are subject to an evaluation test (RPL) to determine their entry level and gaps and to fill these gaps by means of appropriate training. Learner who shows competency in some ares of the RPL assessment, will receive the necessary credit for them.

During training courses, the learner will assess him / herself through completing a self test(s) at the end of each chapter or at the end of a module.

After completing the self-test, the learner will have the opportunity to show his / her competency in a written test.

After successfully completing his / her written test, the learner will be shown by the instructor the practical part of the specific module. The learner will be shown the correct, safe and prescribed methods by demonstrating it to him / her. The learner will, after observing and practicing the practical task, demonstrate his practical knowledge where the instructor will observe him / her progress and abilities.

After all the necessary assessment have been done, the theoretical and practical tests are filed and the results are recorded in the learner's portfolio. In some case photographs are taken on tasks during the assessment, which will serve, as evidence in the learner's portfolio of evidence and training report will be mailed to the client for record keeping purposes.

Learners will have the opportunity to re-write an assessment 3 times, if the learner still cannot master competency in that specific assessment a decision will be made with all parties involved, on whether the student may continue or not.

Our assessment processes are fair, valid, reliable and transparent. Il is this method of assessment that ensures our success as a training provider. New legislation forces us to do assessments according to NQF standards.
